What is the Margin Balance?
The ‘Margin balance’ is the maximum you could lose from the trades you have currently open, if the markets go against you
‘Profit/Loss’ is your current profit or loss for that day. This figure constantly updates as the markets move up or down, to reflect the price movements on your open trades.
Both the margin balance and profit/loss displays are reset to zero at 12 midnight GMT, when your trades are automatically closed. However, if you have clicked to place a roll trade (ie, chosen to keep a trade open beyond the end of the trading day) the figures will also 'roll over'.
You can view your profit/loss history by clicking the ‘Statement’ button in the 'Features' area on the trading application. You can also click on your account in the 'My Account' section when logged in to the main website.
