The pound climbed against the dollar, snapping a five-day decline, after the Bank of England decided against extending its asset-purchase plan and left the key interest rate at an all-time low of 0.5 percent. The British currency, which rose the most in almost three weeks versus the dollar, also strengthened against the euro and the yen. Policy makers said they will review their so-called quantitative easing program next month, while assessing the latest inflation projections, according to a central bank statement today in London. The pound climbed 1.1 percent to $1.6249 as of 2:15 p.m. in London. It strengthened 0.4 percent to 86.09 pence per euro and rose 1.2 percent against the yen to 151.14.   | | The administrator has disabled public write access.
