Fund My Mutual FundHaving been involved in the markets since he was a
teenager, TraderMark has developed an authentic passion for mutual funds
and stocks.
He runs hedged-style mutual funds with both long and short positions,
a structure rarely found in the mutual fund world, he says. But TraderMark considers that
in down or sideways markets, being both long and short is far superior to only buying stocks
with the hopes they will all go up. His blog chronicles his own
experiences in the world of mutual funds, and he also publishes commentaries
on current stocks, the stock market and economics in general.
TraderMark's original goal was "to run a 'real' mutual fund". However, as he
says, "it takes approx $7 million in assets to break even on the
process". He also has an unofficial goal: to beat the indexes he tracks
by 15% annualized per year, which would put his fund performance in
elite company. TraderMark says: "We are soundly beating that thus far".
This popular blog (started in August 2007) now receives more than 100.000
visitors per month.
