Gauging Corporate Financial Results
The main aim of Neil Carvin’s financial analysis site is to educate investors so that
they can better understand their holdings. According to Neil, too many
investors rely solely on bottom-line figures. He tries to show that many
other insights (including early warning signs of future problems) can
be gained with just a little extra work from publicly available
financial statements and using real reports.
Neil and his readers track the performance of various companies by
computing numerical scores for four different gauges they have defined.
They also model corporate income statements, and this allows them to
identify the specific income and cost categories where companies have
surpassed or fallen behind expectations.
This site is frequently updated and well maintained. It now has more
than 150 RSS subscribers and a considerable number of daily visitors
since its launch in October 2006. Anyone who is new to financial trading
analysis will find the beginners' guides to fnancial statements useful
and easy to follow. The Welcome text explains how new visitors can get
familiar with the site’s articles and gauges.
