March 2008 –
Top students from all over the world are trading the live financial markets with gnuTrade in a fierce battle to win £20,000 (~$40,000) – in cash.
Thousands have registered since the start of the Top Trader
competition, which invites university students across the globe to
trade real, live market prices with play money and compete for large
cash prizes. The UK, India, Switzerland, Singapore, USA and Canada are
among the many countries where students are trading well. The
competition is divided into three stages, with the Top 10 traders at
each stage receiving a share of the big prize fund.
Nicolas Martin, from the University of Geneva, a £2,000 winner at the
first stage, said: “It was very exciting as the deadline approached,
watching my trades unfold live and change my position in the Top 10
Table. It's fantastic to win, and with my new trading skills I think I
might invest my winnings!”
gnuTrade, with its unique game-like trading screen, is the only
financial gaming company that offers play money trading and
competitions on live markets, to give a real measure of trading
success.
Anirudha Majumder, another Top 10 player and first stage prize winner,
from the London School of Economics, commented: “Trading on the
platform was exciting as the quotes were being updated continuously and
this was something which wasn't available on the other platforms on
which I have traded before.“
gnuTrade also offers real money trading for people with any level of
financial experience, including new ways to bet on markets.
Lieven Van Marcke, managing director and founder of gnuTrade, says:
“gnuTrade is designed to appeal to novice traders as well as experts.
It is especially popular among students and people who are learning to
trade because it offers live, practice trading with play money and a
user-friendly, colourful trading screen which makes trading easy and
more fun.”
gnuTrade regularly runs trading competitions and would like to hear
from organisations and universities which are interested in running a
trading competition of their own. Students who are keen to learn more
about the competition should visit the Top Trader website
uuni.gnutrade.com.
Anyone who is interested in experiencing the gnuTrade trading platform
can sign up for a free play money account at www.gnutrade.com.
