How to make per point bets using the trading platform

Step 1: Find a market to bet on

Hit the Trade Now link in the top menu to open the trading screen.
Find the market you want to bet on in the World Markets window.
Move the market to the middle of the window, then type in the letter 'T' or click the ‘Thumbs up’ trading icon.
Make sure the ‘Per Point’ tab is selected.

Step 2: Place your market bet

If you want to bet that the market's price will rise click 'Buy'.
If you want to bet that the market price will fall click 'Sell'

1. Choose your bet amount per point between £1 and £20, €1 and €20, or $1 and $30 depending on your betting currency.

2. Check the roll box if you want to keep the trade open beyond the end of the market’s trading day, for a small fee. (You can uncheck the box later the same day if you change your mind, and the fee will not be charged). The trade will automatically close at the end of the trading day if you do not check the box.

Step 3: Set your stop loss

Move the red horizontal line near the market ball, to set the stop loss level (stop order). This is the price at which the trade will automatically close if the market moves againsts you. This will help minimise any losses.

Look at the margin when you move the line as this shows you the maximum amount of money you could lose at each stop level if the market reaches that price.

Click Confirm when you are ready for the trade to go through.

How to adjust or close your per point bet

Click the ‘Thumbs up’ icon or type in the letter (T) as before, then you can use your mouse to do the following:

1.    Raise or lower the stop loss level. You might do this to:

- increase the margin, to avoid the bet being stopped out too early in a volatile market

- decrease the margin, to reduce potential losses, or to make more cash available to place other bets

2.    Change the roll status (keep a bet open beyond the end of the day, or close the bet at the end of the trading day)

3.    Increase your bet amount (to increase potential gains) or decrease your bet amount (to part close the bet and ‘lock in’ profits, and therefore lower your risk)

4.    Close the bet completely (click the X) to collect your profits or accept a loss

When you are happy with your adjustments, click ‘confirm’ and your bet will be adjusted.
