U.K. Stocks Decline for a Second Day - 2008/11/18 19:17 Hi guys! Bad news for FTSE investors ... U.K. stocks fell for a second day as investors speculated the worsening global recession would further damp corporate profits and metals prices fell.

The benchmark FTSE 100 Index slid 48.24, or 1.2 percent, to 4,083.92 at 8:59 a.m. in London. The FTSE All-Share Index decreased 2.4 percent and Ireland's ISEQ Index retreated 4.8 percent.

Europe's Stoxx 600 has lost 45 percent so far this year, heading for its steepest annual decline on record, as writedowns and credit losses topped $965 billion in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. More than $30 trillion was erased from the value of global equity markets.
