The currencies, foreign exchange, forex or fx market is a mechanism which allows people and businesses to trade currencies. It is the largest market in the world, in terms of volume of business and cash value traded.

It includes global trading between large and small banks, individual traders, multinational organisations, financial markets and governments, as well as trading by small retailers.
